Softworld, Inc. Named 39th Fastest Growing Private Company in America

December 15, 2001 (Framingham, MA) – Purple Squirrel Magazine published its annual listing of the 100 fastest growing staffing firms in its December issue. Included in the list was Softworld, Inc., which was declared number 39. To be considered for the Purple Squirrel 100, companies are required to have a minimum of $250,000 in sales in 1998. A minimum of fifty-one percent of the sales must come from IT staffing. An increase in sales from 1998 to 1999 is also required. Figures are based solely on net sales.

Softworld’s Standing

A growth rate of 144% landed Softworld in the 39th spot of the PS 100 for 2001. For this listing, the growth rate was determined by subtracting 1998 revenues from 2000 revenues and dividing 1998 by the difference. “Softworld has continued to solidify its position in today’s staffing industry through its exceptional commitment to excellence,” proclaimed the president of Softworld, Michael Shuman. With an ever-growing reach, such influence promises to continue to grow into the future.

The Whole Picture

As a group the PS100 employed over 43,000 consultants and more then 156,000 internal employees: providing nearly 200,000 filled jobs by only 100 companies. Sales totaled $7.4 billion for the fiscal year of 2000. This number takes on more meaning when compared to $12.5 billion between all 500 of the INC 500. These numbers indicate what influence the staffing industry has, and will continue to have in the economy.
