Payroll Specialist —Waltham, MA

The Payroll Specialist will personally handle numerous Human Resource functions to ensure the overall goal of efficiency and coordination of operations.  The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the weekly, accurate payroll administration for over 500 total employees.

Areas of Responsibility

  • End-to-end management of weekly payroll function in multiple states
  • Set up, maintain and manage multi-state garnishments processing
  • Ensure that proper internal controls and procedures are in place when processing a weekly or incentive payroll.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Team to deliver great service in the areas of Human Resources to employees and consultants
  • Respond to employee questions related to payroll with an expected high-level of helpful, efficient service.
  • Work with Corporate Services team regarding upgrades, changes to payroll as needed for accurate processing.
  • Ability to work with external vendors to improve process workflows.
  • Process monthly commissions for sales & recruiting teams.
  • Additional ad hoc projects as requested by Corporate Services & Human Resources.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a professional setting is preferred.
  • Must have experience processing payroll for 300+ multi state employees.
  • Must be resourceful and able to stay abreast of changes in state tax laws as it pertains to payroll processing.
  • Enthusiastic & open to collaboration & team work.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelors Degree is preferred.

Solutions Manager (Vita Data Sciences, a Division of Softworld)— Waltham

This individual will be accountable for business development in the services industry including the following: Client relationship building lead identification and qualification, setting appointments, creating and developing proposals and pricing models, making presentations, documenting customer agreements (e.g., contract, service agreement), closing sales through effective negotiation, documenting sales activities and may conduct business reviews.  After the client relationship has been fully developed, the solutions manager is responsible for partnering with the client to ensure effective service delivery. Successful business development will result in cost-effective, quality solutions for our customers for FSP, professional services and consulting within the eClinical Electronic Data Management industries.

Manager, Statistical Programming (Vita Data Sciences, a Division of Softworld)— Waltham

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage statistical programming efforts within SAS to generate the clinical datasets, tables, listings and figures. This includes a mix of both individual hands-on SAS Programming, as well as people and process management.
  • Serve as a “face to the client” for at-large relationship management to external clients.
  • Coordinate resource allocation on designated projects for the Vita Data Sciences team.
  • Participate as a thought leader in the space to the at-large life sciences community.
  • In coordination with the management of Vita Data Sciences, contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the organization.
  • Interface with the VDS Business Development and Recruiting teams to ensure that resource allocation and scopes or work are properly aligned.
  • Gradually build and lead a team of additional SAS Programmers and Data Scientist to support multiple clients.
  • Perform validation and QC of the programs, datasets and statistical reports per study requirements.
  • Develop and review CDISC SDTM and ADaM mapping specifications.
  • Responsible for study closeout and providing submission-ready statistical programming deliverables to the client.
  • Ensure compliance of CDISC SDTM and ADaM datasets by running OpenCDISC validator and documenting issues.
  • Generate and review submission documents such as define.xml, SDTM annotated CRF, and reviewers guide.
  • Communicates within a project team to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.
  • Effectively implement and promote use of established standards, SOP and best practices.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior programmers in the team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • 7+ years SAS programming experience.
  • Prior experience leading NDA/BLA/PMDA submissions.
  • 3-4yrs CDISC implementation & mapping experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership and/or mentoring experience in a clinical study environment.
  • Proficient in SAS and Macros and have developed macros to automate functionality.
  • Participated as production or QC programmer at a product and/or study level.
  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

Engineering Recruiter— Waltham

  • Source and develop relationships with engineering consultants through networking, cold/warm calling, and referrals
  • Utilize internal database, job boards, LinkedIn, Social Media, User Groups, and other sources to identify and recruit consultants within the Engineering space.

Project Associate (Vita Data Sciences, a Division of Softworld)— Waltham

Support project management activities at Vita Data Sciences. Responsible for the day-to-day support of client projects and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to client expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project timelines, documents and communication tools.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other relevant documents for prospective clients in the life sciences industry.
  • Read, understand and train clinical study team on the protocol and study/project objectives.
  • Lead kickoff meetings and other clinical project related meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop project schedules, and review (or analyze) project cost, scope, schedule and quality.
  • Ensure good clinical practice (GCP) compliance to the organization’s policies and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in the field of health sciences, business management and other related courses
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Clinical trials, drug development and ICH GCP guidelines is a plus
  • Should be able to manage the assigned projects independently with minimum supervision.
